To Begin... is what matters the most
How can we improve our life by decluttering our minds? Where do we begin?

Hey there, welcome to our journey of making our lives better than it was yesterday.
Writing this blog itself is a part of those attempts we are making to get to a place in our lives where we are out of the confused or unsatisfied mindset with respect to almost everything we go through our day to day life.
To be honest we are no lifestyle/financial gurus. We just thought of beginning a journey and here we are. If we stick to it (hopefully :-)) Maybe you get to see our lives transforming.
We are no different than most of you out there with many different conversations within your mind every single minute. For example: I woke up late today and I keep having a conversation within my mind about the feeling of regret, what can I do to wake up early, what should my ideal schedule look like, why am I lazy and so on. I think this happens to most of you reading this blog.
Identifying the areas that we need to work on
Both of us have been thinking a lot about how can we take control of our wandering minds and be content. Obviously taking cues from lives of other people who we think are doing well. While doing so we came across Ali Abdaal's article about The Ideal Life which says our (personal) problems in life can be split into these 4 categories:
- Money
- Physical Health
- Mental Health / wellbeing
- Relationships
This got us thinking further and damn yeah, our cluttered minds were busier than Time Square all the time.
So we decided to break it down further:
- Money: When it comes to wealth it was a very humble beginning for both of us. I started my adult life earning Rs.3500 per month dealing with debts, switching multiple jobs, growing slow and steady finally reaching USA earning a salary which I never dreamt of. However, our situation hasn't really changed much. As someone said
- "No matter how much you earn, it is never enough"
- Start a business - Problem is we have no clue what business to start.
- Have a passive income - Again no clue about how and what to do.
- Invest in real estate - For us Indians it is mostly buying an apartment or constructing a house to live in is being considered as an asset. But is it really an asset in a practical way? we seldom think about equity and cash flow.
- Physical Health:When it comes to Phisical health the first thing that comes to our mind is exercise/gym or diet. Most of us even get gym memberships, a feel good shopping (atleast for some) and we hit gym for maybe a day or two or a week and eventually we fail to keep up the motivation. Mostly convincing ourselves with some excuses.
We have decided to tackle this issue of ours in a slightly different way.Not that exercise and gym wont be a part of it. It will be but not a direct approach that we have been trying all these while. - Mental Health: Our thoughts when it comes to mental health, more than half of your problems are solved if you sort out Money and physical health part. Majority of the remaining part, according to me (I could be wrong) is our perception about past, present and future, we get caught in the thoughts of our past and future . For ex. My problem is I hold on to past or live in my past quite a lot wishing I could get back to those times. Basically getting lost in lane of memories. This leads to pessimism This usually takes a toll on mental health. We will be coming up with a way to deal with it. I wish to hold on to this word called HOPE. As of now no idea how, but will get there slow and steady.
- Relationships: Once again my thought process could be wrong but if we sort out above three points we should be mostly good with this part, atleast if there are issues we will be in a position to think straight and avoid further damage. As per my obersvation 3 more aspects apart from the above mentioned points that could lead to troubled relations are overthinking, anger and stubbornnes.
Well that's all for today, more blogs to come as a part of our documentation process which I hope can prove helpful for you readers as well :-)
